We are open! Here you will find answers to the most important questions before your visit.

  • Opening hours
    Our opening hours remain unchanged: Tue – Sun 10 am to 6 pm, on the second Friday of the month 10 am to midnight (free admission from 6 pm)
  • Which safety and hygiene measures do I have to observe?
    You have to wear a face mask in the entrance area and in all closed rooms. In the entrance area you will also find dispensers with hand disinfectants. Please use them before you go to the ticket office and start your visit to the museum.
    Please ensure that you maintain the required distance of 1.5 to 2 metres and the usual rules of hygiene during the whole visit (sneezing/coughing in the crook of your arm/tissue, keeping your hands away from your face, avoiding touching other people, regular long hand washing with soap and water).

    Please avoid forming groups. Only a limited number of people may stay in the building and in the rooms. Touch screens or touch objects etc. are currently not usable for hygiene reasons. Please avoid touching surfaces and objects in the museum as much as possible.

  • Will rooms be closed for security reasons?
    The studio rooms of the art education department will remain closed, all other exhibition rooms will be open. 
  • Is there a Long Friday?
    Yes, there is. On the second friday of the month the museum is open until midnight, the admission is free from 6 pm.
  • Are there any new offers?
    We have transferred our art education into digital space and offer films on various channels on individual exhibitions, artworks and workshops. On 9 May we have opened a special exhibition with a live stream without visitors for the first time, you can rewatch the opening online. In our podcast "Foyergespräche" the curators report on their work.
  • How can I get sufficient information without guided tours?
    Our cashier and supervisory staff will inform you about the routing. In addition, "cicerones" will be available in the special exhibition Tadeusz to answer questions about the exhibition.
  • Are food or drinks offered?
    Yes, the museum gastronomy LUX is open: 
    Deli (daily menu) daily 10 am - 6 pm
    Restaurant Sunday to Thursday 6 pm - midnight and Friday and Saturday 6 pm - 1 am
    A reservation is desirable, but not necessary. 
  • Is the museum shop open?
    Yes, but opening hours have changed: Tuesday to Sunday, 12 am – 6 pm.
  • Is it possible to pay with the EC card?
